The puzzle of a prehistoric advanced society has mystified students of the unknown and fascinated academics for more than two thousand years. Thanks to the Ethersphere, New Age books fans can now enjoy a vast array of titles addressing the riddle of Atlantis, both academically oriented and best recent science fiction novels.

There are more theories about what that fantastic island was like and where it was located and beneath which sea the wisdom of the ancients might be encountered than nearly any other Greek myth. Indeed, the topic of a Utopian culture which preceded ours has engaged the imagination of generations precisely for the reason that it holds so much meaning to the modern mind.

Renowned prophet Edgar Cayce wrote of the island as a large land mass, approximately equal in size to Europe. As it is told in the seer’s dynamic vision, the people of Atlantis had mastered many advanced psychic talents and tools, and were the progenitors of the oddly congruent pyramid building cultures of the ancient Egyptians and the Empires of native America. The subject is frequently associated with the paranormal.

Some modern advocates suggest that the Atlanteans were pioneers of alternative energy, making advanced use of natural heat of the earth.

Historical estimates about the true whereabouts of the remnants of the Island include the Eastern Indian Ocean to the Western Atlantic, though, of course most of the focus centers on well-known candidates which are islands in the vicinity, most notably Crete and Cyprus.

We may never know what marvels the Atlanteans mastered, nevertheless, the evidence appears overwhelming: human kind has reached high levels of advancement in the distant past and the loop of development and destruction, possibly many times, in the forgotten recesses of the hazy halls of time we commonly consider as marking beginning of history.
